The Original Chinatown Ice Cream Factory is hands down one of my favorite spots in NYC. It’s been around for decades, and you can really feel the history when you walk in — it’s a true Chinatown staple. What sets this place apart is the amazing variety of flavors, especially the Asian-inspired ones. I tried the lychee, black sesame, and taro — all super creamy and packed with flavor. They also have classics like vanilla and chocolate if you’re feeling less adventurous. It’s a small shop, but always buzzing with locals and tourists alike. The staff is friendly and quick, and the portions are generous. If you’re in the area, this place is a must-visit — it’s more than just ice cream, it’s part of Chinatown’s story.

The flavor blends here are phenomenal. Each one has its own unique umami complement that just takes ice cream to its own planet of flavor.

overall flavor is 4/5 but considering the highlight of this place is the unique asian flavors, its more like a 3/5 as u barely get the flavor of what you order. cone is good and ice cream still does taste nice but when i tried the lychee/red bean/thai tea, those flavors didnt shine thru. seems like the flavor has gone downhill from when i last tried it.

Such a hidden gem in Chinatown! I stumbled upon this place and absolutely loved their lime sorbet. The flavor is incredibly fresh, vibrant, and real. It tastes just like natural lime, not artificial at all, which is so rare to find! I’m already planning to come back to try their seasonal flavors like dragon fruit and taro; they sound amazing. If you’re a fan of fruit-forward ice cream or looking for a refreshing treat in the neighborhood, this place is definitely worth a visit. A true gem for dessert lovers in NYC!

Finally had some black sesame icecream, which was delicious. They have different flavors including lychee and black sesame. Service was attentive. We had 3 sugar cones and you can have 1 scoop with 2 different flavors.

This small ice cream shop offers a great selection of flavors, some of them are truly unique. We tried Black Sesame, Lychee Rose, Coconut & Pistachio, and they were all very creamy and delicious. We also sampled a few other flavors, and everything we tried was good. In addition to their ice cream, they have merchandise like t-shirts, hoodies, plushies, and pins. All staff were friendly and helpful! We’re definitely coming back!

Good ice cream. Definitely some interesting flavors that you probably wouldn't get anywhere else. Despite the space being small (take-out only) the staff was very efficient in getting crowds in and out. I visited on a nice Sunday early afternoon and there was a small crowd there but it didn't take long to be served. One gripe is the price...$8.50 for a single scoop ($13.50 for two scoops) is quite steep...even more expensive than many of these fancy boutique ice cream shops that have been popping up. A family of four shouldn't have to pay $40-50 for a visit to the ice cream shop.

Delicious ice cream with lots of Asian flavors. Funnily enough, they also have normal American flavors like strawberry but they are listed under the exotic flavors. I would recommend the Asian flavors - you didn't come all the way out here for your normal ice cream flavors, did you? I like the pandan, taro, and don tot (egg custard). Prices have definitely gone up over the years, but at least they are generous with allowing you to sample the different flavors, and you can do scoops with half-flavors (e.g. half taro and half pandan is one of my go-to combinations)
